Introduced by Adelaide socialist activist Tom Gilchrist.
In societies with universal suffrage, a parliamentary road to socialism seems a possible option. Whenever it has been tried, however, the undemocratic core of capitalist society has revealed itself. This talk will discuss some historical and contemporary examples of parliamentary socialism, explore why parliament is so undemocratic, and make a case for a revolutionary alternative rooted in the struggles of the working class.
